Charak criticizes statements of Umar, Mehbooba on land row

Since centuries, people of Jammu region are known in maintaining communal harmony, brotherhood and respect for each other’s religion besides have never yielded before communal forces, said senior Congress leader and former minister Gulchain Singh Charak.
Addressing a press meet here today, Charak said some anti-national elements are behind the present crisis, but “I am sure their all plans will be failed by the people of the state who want peace. He strongly condemned the statements of Umar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti and held them responsible for present crisis.
Condemning the role of administration, while handling the mortal remains of Kuldeep Dogra, he said it is a great sin, and the officers and officials who are responsible for this heinous crime should be brought to book and charge-sheeted under law. He welcomed the appointment of judicial probe in the incident.
He also appealed the Government to adopt friendly approach with agitators so that the deadlock ends. He said as a lead, governor must convene an all party meet to find an amicable solution to the ongoing situation, keeping in view the aspirations and interest of general public.
He said in democracy, every citizen has right to express his views but in a peaceful manner. He also demanded porting of local officers on key port who can be able to handle situation.
Meanwhile, former M P Janakraj Gupta a senior congress leader has appealed to Governor NN Vohra to call a meeting of prominent citizens of Jammu and find out a solution. He said sad day by day situation is going from bad to worse and people are facing lot of problems. He also asked the divisional commissioner and police to resist from using force on protestors.
