Shiv Dev Singh Jamwal has been posted as SSP Jammu today. An IPS officer of 1995 batch has earlier served as SDPO Kalibagh, SP Leh and SP Kupwara. His immediate previous posting was as SSP Vigilance. Addressing the media persons, after assuming the new charge, Jamwal - recipient of president gallantry award, today appealed the people to observe calmness and maintain peace in the region. Urging cooperation of the masses, he said that police is for the people and not against them. It is police’s duty to ensure law, order and peace. He said that no policing can be done without people’s cooperation. He cautioned people against playing in the hands of evil machinations. He said that people should exercise their discretion and not give heed to any false propaganda |
