| Mendhar SHO ‘fired’ for beating civilians | | | Early Times Reporter Mendhar | July 30
Taking cognizance of alleged "manhandling" of two civilians by police personnel at Mendhar on Tuesday, police department today attached Station House officer police station Mendhar Kuldeep Raj Sharma to District Police Line (DPL) Poonch and posted Station House Officer (SHO) police station Dhraba, Surankote Satvir Dutta as new SHO Mendhar police station. Sources informed News Agency of Kashmir that higher authorities also suspended six police personnel who allegedly beaten up mercilessly two civilians at a local Dhaba when they had gone for dinner. However, Superintendent of Police Poonch Basant Kumar Raj informed News Agency of Kashmir that SHO Mendhar has not been attached for yesterday's incident. "We have suspended all the six police personnel who have allegedly beaten up two civilians in a local Dhaba on Tuesday," he maintained. It may mentioned here that personnel security guards of SHO Mendhar had beaten up severely two civilians running steel work shop in a local Dhaba on Tuesday when they had gone for taking dinner. The family members had lodged a written complaint against the cops who were identified as Ved Parkash, Rakesh Kumar, Barob Dutt, SPO's Manpreet Singh and Rakesh Kumar. |
