| 2 men on road dead, 7 wounded | | Kishtwar mishap | | Early Times Reporter Bhaderwah | July 30 At least two BECON labourers were killed and seven others were wounded when a tipper carrying them skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Balla, here this afternoon. Eyewitnesses told News Agency of Kashmir that driver of the ill fated tipper lost control over the vehicle as a result of which it skidded off the road and fell into a 150 feet deep gorge. The tipper carrying BECON labourers was on its way from Bhaderwah to Phranu when it met with the mishap. Two labourers died on the spot, while seven others including driver were critically injured in the incident. The deceased have been identified as Anayatulla son of Shamasdin of Durban Balla and Parvaiz Ahmed son of Abdul Gani of Gazote. The injured were Sadam Hussain son of Shamsher Ahmed of Durbani, Mukhtiyar Ahmed son of Muhammad Shafi of Dogga, Farooq Ahmed son of Ghulam Rasool of Balla, Tariq Ahmed son of Ghulam Hassan of Durbani, Abdul Majid son of Lal Din of Gazote, Romesh son of Gambhir Chand of Balla and driver Jagjit Singh son of Latta Singh of Punjab. Sources said that the injured were shifted to district hospital Doda from where the critically wounded driver Jagjit Singh was referred to Udhampur hospital. |
