| Al-Badr militant killed in encounter | | |
Jammu, Sep 7 Security forces today gunned down a militant belonging to Al-Badr outfit in an encounter in Rajouri district, a defence spokesman said here.
Acting on a specific information, a joint team of Rashtriya Rifle (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of police launched an operation at Khund last night. In the subsequent encounter, the militant was killed at around 0430 hours, he said.
An AK rifle alongwith its four magazines and a mobile phone were recovered from the slain militant, identified only as Qasim, a foreign mercenary, the spokesman said.
The militant is believed to have sneaked from across the Line of Control (LoC) a few months back. |
