Children of lesser God?
5/25/2020 11:45:30 PM
Sanitary workers, who are playing a pivotal in role, in fight against the COVID-19 are working without proper protective gears. It’s unfortunate that this poor class has been ignored by everyone.
These workers are doing an important job by sanitizing the localities in Jammu region. Their contribution is immense as they are helping in preventing the COVID-19 infection from being spread. The question is why they have been left in lurch. Are they the children of lesser God? Don’t they deserve protective gears and kits? Or is it that their lives don’t matter?
Ones who are not leaving any chance to seek publicity at the pretext of honoring the COVID-19 warriors seem to have turned a blind eye towards the contribution of these COVID-19 frontline warriors. It seems they believe that by clicking pictures with these poor people won’t be a big publicity stunt.
The helmsmen need to pay attention towards these poor workers, who without caring for any protection are putting every effort to keep the environment infection free. What’s stopping Jammu Municipal Corporation from providing them with the protective gear?
The people running the Jammu Municipal Corporation need to answer this question. At this point of time, none of the officials can claim that there is shortage of funds. The Central and J&K UT Governments have made enough funds available to fight the COVID-19 in every possible way.
The officials need to realize that if these workers are not provided the protective gear it can lead to a catastrophe as anyone of them testing positive can create a chain of people as they are reaching everywhere.
Entire society respects their hard work and the dedication towards the cause of humanity and all of us expect that officials and the other concerned would do the same.
It’s no secret that no medicine or a vaccine has been found to fight the COVID-19 and the only way to battle this deadly virus is to take preventive measures.
These sanitary workers are fighting half of the battle for the society by keeping the environment clean. So, providing them with the protective gears is no favour to them. It’s their right and they should not be deprived of it. One hopes that the helmsmen would wake up and take necessary steps to protect these poor souls, who are rendering selfless service to keep others safe.
