| Three ultras, cop killed in J-K | | |
Srinagar, Sep 7 Security forces gunned down three militants while ultras shot dead a policeman in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir since last night, official sources said here today.
Two unidentified militants were killed in a gunbattle with security forces in Rajpora area of Pulwama district in the wee hours today, the sources said.
Two pistols and two hand grenades were recovered from the possession of the slain militants, the sources said adding the group affiliation and identity of the ultras was being ascertained.
Another unidentified militant was killed in a gunbattle with security forces in Handwara area of Kupwara district, they said adding the operation was going on till reports last came in.
Militants barged into the house of a policeman Abdul Gaffar Mir and shot him dead in Handwara area late last night, the sources said adding Mir was previously associated with counter-insurgency special operations group.
A woman, Tahira, who was shot at and injured by militants at Bandipore on August 28, succumbed to her injuries at a hospital here today.
