TMF demands clarity on implementation of PMJAY

JAMMU, May 28: Reacting to the tall claims being made by the government on Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), the Team Mask Force (TMF) chairman Vijay Sharma said that that on one side it is being propagated that 57% of its target has been covered under the scheme while on the other the Chief Secretary (CS) is saying that the Health Insurance scheme under Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY) would soon be implemented as soon as the environment becomes conducive for free movement in JK UT.
Sharma said on one side Government itself is claiming of 57% of targeted coverage of families has been achieved while on the other side the CS version is that the Health Insurance for all the residents was to be implemented, have created confusion in the minds of residents of JKUT. He recalled a scheme under PMJAY in erstwhile J&K state launched for poor and downtrodden people of JK state in 2018 whereas PM’s announcement of Ayushman Bharat Yojna to be implemented for 15 lakhs families of JK UT is yet to meet its fate in time to come as per media reports of CS’ version. Sharma also referred to tall claims made with regards to PM package of Rs 20 lakh crore, the benefits of the same are yet to be seen on ground by various sections of society in the country including JKUT.
