| Tension brewing up in border areas, attachments still continue: Bhim | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 31
Despite the Governor’s decision to order detachment of nearly 10,000 employees, majority of the employees particularly teachers and medical staff have not reported back to their original places of posting, alleged Prof Bhim Singh, Chairman JKNPP. Addressing media persons on the conclusion of his four day tour of Rajouri and Reasi Districts, here today, Prof Singh was critical of the district administrations of their failure in solving the peoples’ problems and said that tension is growing along the border areas of Rajouri and Poonch districts because of increase in infiltration from the Pak sponsored militants. He said that there is also great resentment among the locals over non-payment of remunerations to the VDC members and SPOs working in the militancy infested areas; renewal of ration cards, granting relief to the ST and SC categories, issuance of voter I-cards, compensation to those injured in land mines, early clearance of cases under SRO 43. The locals alleged that about 200 such cases alone were pending clearance in Reasi district. In the meantime, Prof Singh has sought amendment in Government order relating to the diversion of forest land to the SASB keeping in view the aspirations of different parts of the state particularly that of Jammu. He said that the land shall be made available to the SASB without changing the proprietary rights of the forest department adding that people of Kashmir have always received Amarnath pilgrims with respect and human dignity. Their concern would get satisfied when it is made clear by the government that the proprietary rights (Haquq Malkana) of the land shall remain with the government i.e Forest Department, he |
