District Development Commissioner, Jammu Dr. Mandeep K Bhandari on Thursday convened a high level meeting of various departments and representatives of Shri Budha Amar Nath Yatra management committee to finalize the arrangements for the smooth conduct of Shri Budha Amar Nath Yatra (BAY) which is commencing on August 03, 2008.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu M. S. Sheikh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Jammu Rajinder Singh, Joint Director of Information, Jammu Dr. Sat Pal, Regional Transport Officer, Jammu. F. C. Bhagat, Assistant Commissioner General Rohit Khajuria, Health Officer JMC K D Singh, SSP Security Johny William, President Vishav Hindu Parishad, Jammu Rama Kant Dubey and other senior officers of PDD, PHE, Health, Revenue, Tourism, Police and JMC were present in the meeting.
DDC informed that the base camp of Shri Budha Amar Nath Ji Yatra would be Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. For the convenience of Yatries, he asked the officers of PDD, PHE, R&B, JMC, Health and SSP Security to ensure all basic amenities and arrangements at Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar Jammu.
For transportation of pilgrims from railway station to the base camp, the RTO said that sufficient buses are available for the purpose. With regard to issuance of passes to the workers of BAY management committee, the DDC asked the committee to furnish the list of workers to SSP security. Regarding security and parking of vehicles at base camp, the SSP security apprised that the entire area of the Yatri Niwas has been sensitized and proper parking space has also been made available. The DDC asked the officers to work in close coordination with each other for the smooth conduct of yatra.
Assistant Commissioner General Rohit Khajuria has been appointed as Nodal Officer of the Yatra. |
