Missing woman found dead in Jammu, man killed over land dispute in Poonch

Jammu, May 30 A 33-year-old woman, who went missing three days ago, was found dead inside a canal here, while a man was attacked and killed in a separate incident over a land dispute in Poonch district on Saturday, police officials said.
The body of a 33-year-old woman, who had been missing for the past three days, was recovered from a canal in Gadigarh in the city's outskirts, police said on Saturday.
''The body was recovered from a canal this morning in Gadigarh area and has been shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem,'' police said.
Pooja, a resident of Channi Himamt, Jammu was missing for the last three days and a complaint was lodged at the concerned police station, Deputy SP Ram Singh Charak, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Gandhi Nagar here told .He said that the body has been shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem, adding, “A board of doctors will be constituted to carry out the post-mortem and only after their report, the cause of death will be known.
Meanwhile, 55-year-old Mohammad Aalam was reportedly attacked by some persons with a log over a land dispute in a village in Surankote area of Poonch district on Saturday morning, causing critical injuries to him.
The victim was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, the officials said, adding that police has registered a case and further investigation is under progress to catch hold of the culprits.
