| NC suffers serve jolt with the resignation of its Corporator | | Shingari extends support to the ongoing agitation | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 1
The National Conference today received a severe jolt when one of its JMC Corporator and Provincial President Seva Dal resigned from the party and pledged his solidarity and support with the ongoing agitation in Jammu on SASB land row. Addressing hundreds of his supporters of ward NO 27, Surinder Singh Shingari declared to struggle for the cause of Jammu and the refugees who have been subjected to injustice by the political leadership from the last six decades. Referring to the land dispute, he said that NC along with other vested political interests, have failed to understand the basis of the ongoing agitation and added that ‘there was no point to raise objection over the use of the land by the SASB merely for two months during the Yatra period’. Ruling out his joining to any political party right now, he said his first and foremost duty is to fight for the rights of the people of the Jammu region.. He said that he would mobilize the public opinion in favour of the cause of Jammu through non violent means besides fighting for the refugees who have been subjected to injustice by careless and weak political leadership of the state. He also made an appeal to the people to use retrain while agitating for their cause so that the communal harmony for which the Jammuties are known is not harmed and disturbed. |
