| Central Bank of India abuses customers, denies payment | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 1
Contrary to customs, the Central Bank of India, (branch- Talab Tilloo, Jammu) misbehaves with its customers and abuses them by using unparliamentary language and denying payments, thus repulsing the standards set by Reserve Bank of India compulsorily to be followed by all the banks doing commercial monitary business in India. Things turned ugly in Central Cooperative Bank Talab Tilloo, Jammu (J&K) on Friday forenoon when a customer, a Journalist by profession presented himself inside the bank, which was all functioning and staff members duly working with Senior General Manager sitting in his chambers. The customer as usual went to the Bank and after standing at the respective counter for about 10 minutes when remained unattended, pleaded for reimbursement of a payment to him. No sooner, the staff members got attracted towards the submission made by the customer, one of the staff members entered into hot arguments with the customer and used unparliamentary language giving the reasons that Jammu is under strike and the bank is making no payments to its customers. When the customer while identifying himself as a journalist wanted to know the cause of using the unparliamentary language and paying no attention to him, the staff member snatched his identify card and continued with the abuses he was already pronouncing in. Soon the Sr. General manager also came out of his office chamber, who instead of instructing the staff member to behave properly and maintain the necessary language as prescribed under RBI norms also entered into arguments with the customer. Though Jammu city was under a peaceful bandh and people were protesting peacefully against the authorities, the Central Bank of India Bank was open with a security guard standing outside and it was only after finding the bank functioning, the customer entered the Bank with the plea to receive the payment, which he was in need of. Further there was no display of any notice, making mention of non-disbursement of payments to its customers. The attitude of the Bank thus is highly uncustomery and against the RBI norms that amounts disciplinary action against the staff member so that the credibility of the Bank and friendly customery service is not jeopartised. |
