India to ink trilateral shipping pact with Brazil, S Africa

New Delhi, Sep 7 India will sign a trilateral agreement with Brazil and South Africa on merchant shipping and other maritime transport related matters during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Brasilia to attend the 1st IBSA Summit being held on September 13.

The Cabinet today gave the go-ahead to signing of the agreement which is expected to improve India's shipping links with South Africa and Brazil besides strengthening relations and cooperation among the three countries, an official spokesperson announced here today.

Promoting direct shipping links with South Africa and Brazil is important from India’s trade point of view.
