| Massive drinking water supply programme under execution in valley: CE PHE | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Aug 2
Under the Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme Phase-New 21 schemes are being completed this year in the valley at a cost of Rs. 40.67 crores. This would provide potable water facility to 40,000 people in 44 habitation. Stating this here today, the Chief Engineer PHE, Kashmir said that Government has approved about Rs 555.03 crore under ARWSP phase-New last year for 284 water supply schemes to cover 1199 hitherto un-covered and partially covered habitations inhabitated of 10.84 lakh population. The execution of work on these schemes has already started during the last financial year. In addition under ARWSP phase-IV about 54 water supply schemes are expected to be completed during the current finical year to provide drinking water to about 2.62 lakh souls of 251 habitations. |
