| 2 killed, 7 injured as Sumo rolls down on Kashmir Highway | | | Banihal (Ramban), Aug 03:
At least two persons died while seven others were injured two of them critically when a Tata Sumo they were traveling in skidded of the road at Shair Bibi on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, here this morning. Informed sources told News Agency of Kashmir that Tata Sumo (JK02P-9026) on its way to Baramulla skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Shair Bibi on National Highway near Banihal at around 7.30 am this morning. Two passengers died on the spot and seven others were injured two of them critically. "Two persons died on the spot and seven others were critically injured", DTI Traffic Afaq Ahmad told NAK adding that the injured have been shifted to SKIMS. It was reliably learnt that the Tata Sumo was carrying members of Sikh community who were going to Baramulla to attend marriage party of their relative. The deceased have been identified as Balwant Singh son of Maya Singh and Ravinder Singh son of Aatam Jeet Singh both of Baramulla. Those injured have been identified as Bir Singh son of Badrinath of Batote, Kuldip Singh son of Pyara Singh of Batote, Rashpal Singh son of Thakur Singh of Budgam, Jaswinder Singh son of Balbir Singh of Jammu, Ranjit Kour wife Samir Singh, Samir Singh son of Maya Singh and Aatam Jeet Singh son of Harbajan Singh all residents of Baramulla.
