Jammu Aug 03 : The Army authorities have denied any damage to one of their vehicles by the violent mob and said that Internal Security Columns of the army are functioning under the provisions of law to accomplish the specific tasks assigned to them. .
While interacting with the media, Maj Gen DL Chowdhary, GOC Tiger Division, informed that the Army had been called out on request for aid to the civil authorities as per provisions of the Indian Constitution.
The Army Internal Security Columns will function under the provisions of law to accomplish the specific tasks assigned to them. He also gratefully thanked the public for their whole hearted cooperation in maintaining law and order in the town and requested for their continued support.
The General Officer exhorted that violent activities and damage of public property is no solution to any problem.
These only weaken the nation and adversely affect the Government exchequer, he added.
