Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu, YP Bourney today granted bail to Kundan Lal and Rakesh Mahajan, who were arrested by the Nowabad police station u/s 188, 189, 336, 427, 148, 149, 447 and 500 RPC, with the direction to release the petitioners from the custody after they furnish bail bond and personal bond to the tune of Rs 10,000 each.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the bail applications filed by Free Legal Aid Committee, constituted by the Bar Association for the free legal aid to the victims of the ongoing agitation over the SASB land row Board, were submitted at the residence of the CJM during the curfew. It is also interested to note that police had also added section 189 RPC for threatening police officials/ officers. |
