| JUTA extends support to ongoing agitation | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 4
In an interactive meeting with the members of Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangrash Samiti (SAYSS), the fraternity of JUTA (Jammu University Teachers' Association) today pledged its support to the cause of the Samiti for the ongoing agitation for the land transfer to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).All who were present were of the opinion that this agitation is the result of the discrimination of the centre and the state politics with Jammu region and the appeasement policies for one specific region of the state the for the last 60 years. Hence, the revocation of the land transfer order will in fact be a message to the people of the Jammu region, thereby respecting their sentiments and national spirits. The meeting was attended by the teachers of the Jammu University and the three members of the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangrash Samiti led by the convenor Leela Karan Sharma and Brig. Suchet Singh and Tilak Raj Sharma. In the meeting, the JUTA members expressed their solidarity with the Samiti for taking the cause of the Jammuties in regard to their faith and the religious practice. A cross section of the teachers who addressed the gathering and all who were present stressed the need for maintaining the communal harmony and the age old traditions of the brotherhood among the different sections of the society while pursuing the demand of the land transfer back to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
