Jammu | Aug 4

Bar Association Jammu has strongly condemned the appeasement policy being adopted by the Central Government towards the Kashmir region, where even the bandh call given by the anti-national, fundamentalists and separatists are given serious consideration at the cost of sentiments of nationalist forces agitating in the Jammu region.
The association in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its President Adv BS Salathia, has strongly condemned the unprovoked firing by the police on the peaceful demonstrators at Samba in which two persons were killed and several others seriously injured. Expressing its grave concern over the police atrocities at various places in Jammu region, the BAJ warned the administration not to take such like steps which in itself aggravate the situation in the region instead of containing it. The Bar members viewed with grave concern the continuous silence maintained by the Central Government over the volatile situation in Jammu region.
BAJ has asked the administration to take immediate measures to provide adequate protection and security to the people belonging to the minority communities in Jammu region in particular and state in general in order to defeat the nefarious designs of the fundamentalists and antinational forces active in the state to create communal divide in Jammu region with a view to weaken the ongoing agitation by branding the agitation as communal.
The association also expressed its gratitude to support extended by different organizations of Government, Public Sector Undertaking employees by proceeding on mass casual leave today in response to the call of BAJ.
The meeting among others was attended by Vice-President CM Sharma, General Secretary Pawan Manni, Advocates Rajesh Kotwal, Minu Koul, Subodh Jamwal, SK Shukla, Abhinav Sharma, Ranjeet Singh Jamwal, Rajesh Thappa, Pawan Dev Singh, Rakeshwar Singh Darswal, Vikukash Anand, Vikas Sharma, Vishal Kapoor, KJ Singh Amarjeet Chargotra, Praveen Kumar, Satinder Gupta, Yogeshwar Singh, Vishal Sharma, Baldev Singh, Rakeshjeet Singh and Arun Jamwal and MP Singh Palli President Young Lawyers Association.
