| Lal Singh, Madan Lal calls on PM | | | New Delhi | Aug 4
Member Parliament Madan Lal Sharma and Chaudhary Lal Singh met Prime Minister and to discussed the issue pertaining to the Amarnath Shrine Board Controversy. While, explaining the situation to the Prime Minister on handing over the land to Amarnath Shrine Board has attracted countrywide attention and acquired political dimensions of complex nature. It is felt that there has been some crucial mistake at the initial stages which have resulted in unrest and violence in the Jammu region as well as in other parts of the country. The non-involvement of local leaders in management related matters of the Shrine has been the major cause for present resentments, and political exploitation of the entire issue by some vested interests. In the fact the Governor, who is the constitutional head of the State should not have been made the Chairman of the Shrine Board. Besides this, the local people of Jammu and Kashmir should have been inducted in the management of the Board, instead of having the people in the management from outside state. They informed the PM that a particular political party and its hard-line communal outfits were waiting for an opportunity and hijacked the entire issue for their best political advantage and have thrown the state particularly the Jammu region to an unprecedented violence. The requested Prime Minister to tackle the present unrest and violence in Jammu and adjoining districts and defeat the communal agenda of some forces who have hardly any respect for lives of innocent people and they also urged the PM that present Governor, N.N Vohra, be re-called as he failed to solve problems of Government property. |
