| HC directs state to interview Ex. Guard aspirants | | | Jammu, Sept 07 : In a writ petition filed by two aspirant of Excise Guard, Jammu and Kashmir High Court has directed the state to allow petitioners to appear in the interview. Passing an interim direction in a writ petition filed by Navdeep Sharma and Vivek Sharma both sons of Jugal Sharma, Justice NA Kakru of state High Court, Jammu wing directed that in case the petitioners possess the requisite height, as prescribed in the rules, they shall be allowed to participate in the interview. The petition was filed by the aspirants alleging that despite of possession requisite qualification and height as prescribed in the service rules of Excise Department, they did not figured in the short list issued by the department for interview. Case of the petitioner is that short listing has been made on the basis of height being prescribed, having no sanction of rules, the court observed adding, in case it is fact that petitioners do possess the requisite height as per rules, have applied and are eligible in terms of rules and the candidates are to be called for interview, in such eventuality the state shall permit them to appear in interview. The respondents were though directed to keep the performance of the petitioner in a sealed cover. |
