| VRS Union members stage protest demonstration | | |

Jammu, June 24: VRS Union members today staged a protest demonstration outside Press Club Jammu and against the Finance department and SRTC Management.
The protest was led by DEv Raj Bali, who alleged that the two departments bent upon to harass the employees and they were in connivance with each other. “We are struggling for the last more than 7 years for our legitimate dues and we want to draw the attention towards the Govt. order No.103-F of 2013 dated 10.04.2013 and these two are violating this order.
Whereas we were promised that our dues will be cleared within 60 days from the date of our VRS/GHS but sorry to state here that more than 7 years but till date our dues are not cleared and in this long struggle of 7 years our 39 VRS/GHS have breathed their last as they did not afford medical treatment for want of funds. Who is responsible for irreparable losses to their families?
We are struggling for the last more than 7 years for our 50% balance payments of our legitimate dues for cost of living allowance (COLA) arrears, bill of which comes to Rs.16,76,49,497.00 and 6th pay commission arrears and bonus @8.33%. And we are very strange that why our balance dues are not being released, whereas in all respects the bills are prepared and lying pending in the office of the Finance Department Civil Secretarat, Jammu.
We have been unnecessarily grinded by these two bodies”, they said. They appealed Lt. Governor J&K UT to please intervene in the matter so that their demands would be redressed without any further delay. In the said demonstration among others who were present on the occasion were Surinder Singh, Balwinder Singh, Shiv Kumar, Khadam Hussain. Surinder Kumar, Dhian Singh. |
