‘Central leadership lacks clear out Kashmir policy’

Describing the current turmoil in Jammu and Kashmir as the result of a clash of two basic thoughts, the former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has said the separate status granted to the state is not only discriminatory but also the root cause for the growth of fundamentalism, secessionism and breeding of terrorism leading to numerous other problems for the countrymen including the subjects of this state.
While interacting with a group of Kashmiri migrants and some pilgrims to Mata Vaishnodevi and Swami Amar Nath from M.P, who called on him here today, Prof Gupta said the folly of the Congress leadership granting a separate status though under a temporary provision of Article 370 to appease Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah under communal considerations has come to a big problem as they had never a clear cut Kashmir policy.
‘Because of the confused policies of the ruling leadership of Congress’, he said, the situation has assumed alarming heights to the extent that Swami Amarnath are getting aliens although deities are located within the Kashmir Valley itself but the parties like Congress, NC, PDP along with pro-Pak elements are singing the tunes which are unacceptable to the nationalists, whether in Jammu or in any other parts of the country.’ In absence of any clear approach the things are reaching to the climax, he said adding that has to happen at last.
The BJP leader also condemned the use of brute force at Samba and elsewhere resulting in the loss of human lives and injuries to many others. This, he alleged, is being done at the behest of Congress led UPA government as the Governor is nominee of New Delhi. He also demanded immediate removal of the officer incharge at Samba and judicial probe into the police action.
