Shopkeepers of Jhajjar Kotli district Udhampur staged a protest demonstration against the irresponsible and anarchic attitude if police officials of the area.
According to reports a bunch of Amarnath pilgrims was passing through the area, police party while on patrolling along with some senior officials severely thrashed a local shopkeepers who deals in repair work of automobiles.
Reacting over the act of police the locals and shopkeepers blocked the highway and shouted slogans against the police.
Later on SP Rural Rajinder Gupta and MLA Nagrota Yougal Sharma rushed to the spot and took the situation under control. Rectifying the crowd Sharma assures that the matter would be investigated soon.
