| No Kashmiri leader will be allowed in Jammu: Manhas | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Aug 5
Extremist Hindu party, the Shiv Sena, today said that it would not allow any Kashmiri leader to set foot in Jammu and vowed to continue economic blockade of the Muslim dominated Kashmir Valley till its demands are met. The Shiv Sena took this decision at a high level meeting held in Jammu under its state president, Krishen Manhas, a statement said. "No Kashmiri Hurriyat leader has been able to step into Jammu in the presence of the Shiv Sena, nor would they be allowed to do so in future," the meeting said. The Shiv Sena has condemned the Hurriyat Conference statement in which the latter has reportedly said that it would not allow the Secretariat to be shifted to Jammu if fanatic Hindus doesn’t stop attacks on hapless Muslims in Jammu. Jammu serves as winter capital of the state and has majority Hindu population. Sena said that it has decided that none of the Kashmiri leaders including those pro-India like Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and Omar Abdullah would be allowed to enter Jammu under any circumstances. "Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mohammad Yaseen Malik, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Shabir Ahmad Shah and other Hurriyat Conference leaders, too, should forget Jammu, because henceforth their entry into the city will not only be difficult but also impossible. "The economic blockade of the Kashmir valley will continue till Kashmiri leaders come to their senses," he asserted. |
