| PDP leaders hold meet, discuss prevailing situation | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 5
Senior leader of People Democratic Party (PDP) have expressed their serious concern over the present situation in the region and death of youths in police firing. Addressing the workers, the Rajya Sabha member, Tirlok Singh Bajwa hoped that the all party meeting convened by Prime minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh on August 6, 2008 be fruitful and help in restoring peace in Jammu region and urged the prime minister to intervene in the matter, as the situation is worsening day by day. Meeting also expressed its concern over escalating violent incidents in different parts of Jammu region. Meeting also expressed its concern over deteriorating law and order situation in Jammu region and appealed to the people to frustrate designs of those communal forces which have been trying to take political benefit of the present situation. Meeting while strongly condemning attack on the house of party leader Shanti Devi, flayed the local police for its failure to provide security to PDP leaders. Ved Mahajan, Daman Bhasin, Shanti Devi, M.S Tariq, Master Tassadiq Hussain, Falail Singh, RK Bali, Baldev Slathia and Surjeet Kour attended the meeting. |
