Satpal Sharma, a trade unionist and senior Congress leader has extended whole hearted support to ongoing agitation launched by Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti (SAYSS).
While extending support to the on going agitation Sharma called upon the Central Govt to recall Governor N.N Vohra and replace him with some seasoned statesman to handle present situation.
Sharma paid rich tributes to people killed in police firing and has criticized repressive policies of state administration. He called upon the administration against police officers who are involved in desecrating body of Kuldeep Dogra and opening fire on innocent citizens. He urged all political and social organizations of this state to come forward and give support to the ongoing agitation launched by SAYSS which has reached every nook and corner of the state and has taken the shape of people’s movement.
Sharma has also denounced pseudo national leaders of Delhi who are deciding destiny of people of the state while sitting in AC rooms without knocking the ground realities. They have never understood the aspirations of local people and making tall claims of sorting out Kashmir problem. Now brave Dogras of Jammu irrespective of caste, creed, color and party affiliations have risen for safeguarding their rights ands are opposing secessionists and anti-national forces of Kashmir.
He also condemned the statement of father and daughter of Muftis for fueling sentiments of people by giving provocative statements for dirty vote bank politics. Mufti Mohd. Sayeed, instead of feeling indebted to the people of R S Pura Jammu who elected him to state legislative for the first time, is dubbing people of Jammu as communal and goonda elements, he said.
Mean while, in a meeting of Apex body of JRBOO, JGBWO and JRB class 4th employees organizations unanimously decided to extend full support to SASS for its on going agitation for restoration of land to SASB.
Police action resorting to firing in which two protestors lost their lives and many suffered injuries, and ban on media by the administration as well, was strongly condemned, by A.K Dutta who chaired the meeting.
