| PM should not have sidelined those connected with land row:Harsh | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 6
The Panthers Party has blamed the centre, particularly the Prime Minister, for adopting a casual approach towards the crisis in Jammu and Kashmir over the land row.The Party spokesman,Harsh Dev Singh, today said "it is strange that those political leaders from deep south, who must have no knowledge about the land row had been invited to the All Party meeting convened by Manmohan Singh in Delhi today." He said political leaders, including those belonging to the Panthers Party, and the Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti, who are party to the problem, were not invited."What sort of settlement the Prime Minister can be able to hammer out when those hurt by the revocation of the land order were not involved in the meeting? He asked. In reply to a question he said if political leaders from Jammu had been invited an attempt at evolving a consensus could have been made. He said that neither the state Government nor the centre had time to intervene when the Panther supremo had started fast unto death. "Do they want to see Prof.Bhim Singh to die ?"He posed a question. Asked about Dr Karan Singh's five-point formula for resolving the land row Harsh Dev Singh said "Dr Singh has not said anything about the land that had been first diverted to the Board and then the same order was revoked." He said "it is Dr Singh's personal opinion but he should have expressed his mind on the revocation of ,land order." When reminded that a consensus on the land row was difficult becuse the Jammuites want land to be restored to the Board and those in Kashmir opposing it the Pnthers Party leader said "through sustained talks with relevent parties consensus could be built." |
