"It is emergency like situation all across the province with curfew imposed in almost all the towns for last more than 5 days, conversion of all important towns in the province into cantonments, brutal lathicharge, orders for direct police firing, army deployment, barbed fencing in whole of the city, restriction on civil liberties, disruption of SMS facility, refusal to honor the duly issued curfew passes," said Prof. Hari Om.
He said that UPA Govt. should immediately recall Governor NN Vohra, lift curbs on civil liberties, revoke curfew and restore land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
He further said that that even the dead bodies are not allowed to be taken for cremation while a pregnant lady in labour pain at Janipura lost the yet to be born infant as she was not allowed to proceed to the hospital.
Prof. Hari Om said that Governor NN Vohra has crossed all the limits by attempting to gag media and Punish reporters as the mediamen are being targeted selectively and are fired at directly by security forces.
