HC directs DGP to produce Bharti

Justice Sunil Hali of J&K High Court Jammu Wing today in a habeas corpus petition challenging detention of Dinesh Bharti head-priest of Radha Krishan Mandir Dharmal, has issued notice to state of J&K through Commissioner / Secretary Home Dept, DGP J&K, IGP Jammu Range to disclose the reasons for detaining him. The High Court directed that DGP shall also produce the detenue in the Court on August 8.
The Court direction was passed in a petition filed in which Bar President BS Salathia, Vice President CM Sharma and senior member of the Bar Abhinav Sharma Advocates appeared.
The petition was presented during the curfew hours in which the Chief Justice of the State High Court directed to list this petition before Justice Sunil Hali. Due to curfew imposed in the Jammu City the petition was taken-up at the residence of Justice Sunil. Justice Sunil after hearing Advocates issued notice and direction and also directed that if petitioner requires any medical treatment, respondents shall ensure that he is properly examined by the doctors concerned.
