Jammu Sangrash Samiti (JSS) has condemned use of force on peace demonstrators in various parts of Jammu region. Expressing anguish and shock over the killing of two more protestors at Samba, Samiti said that extreme repressive actions taken by the Governor’s administration like continues curfew for ten days now and calling in of army and killing the demonstrators in police firing will not deter the Jammu people from continuing their struggle for achievement of justice.
A meeting of Samiti, held here today, under the Chairmanship of its President Amarnath Gupta has however appealed to the protestors to express their anguish through peaceful demonstrators and maintain perfect communal harmony, despite all the provocations by the Kashmiri secessionists and communist’s. Welcome the support extended to the agitation, which is basically for assertion of regional identity and aspirations of Jammu, by many groups of Muslim community, Gupta has commended the spirit of communal brotherhood and religious tolerance displayed by all sections of the people in Jammu. This utmost unity displayed by the members of all the religious communities in Jammu has unnerved the anti national and religious fundamentalists in Kashmir, who are inciting the Muslims of Jammu and even Kashmiri Muslims living in Jammu, by unleashing a totally false propaganda of Muslims in Jammu being targeted by the demonstrators and a feeling of insecurity prevailing among them. |
