The J-K State Unit of All India Lawyers Union observed Hiroshima Day here today. It was on this day in August 1945 when United States of America dropped first atomic bomb at Hiroshima in Japan. The 63rd anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear bombings reminds the humanity of the holocaust. Advocates MM Baru, Hari Chand Jalmeria, B.S Manhas, S.A Slaria, B.B Kotwal, K.S Chib, Amrit Sareen, Abdul Rouf, Rahul Bharti, M.L Sharma, Rameshwar Jamwal, Bansi Lal Sharma, Rajinder Jamwal, Naresh Sharma, MU Slaria, Vilakshan Singh, Rajeev Sharma, Arvind Singh of AILU, in a statement resolved to campaign for nuclear bomb free and safe world. In the meeting lawyers also asked for judicial inquiry in to the Samba as Jourian Firing instead of Magisterial inquiry announced by the Govt. and severe punishment to the culprit police officials. They asked the State and Union Govts to forthwith resolve the Amarnath Shrine Land controversy so that peace is returned to the State. They appealed the people to maintain communal harmony and adopt democratic means of struggle. |
