| Forget old affiliations; come under united banner: Jamwal | | ‘We have to achieve political freedom from Kashmiris’ | | Early Times Reporter

President Anti- Discrimination Forum Jammu, Maj Gen (Retd) G S Jamwal has urged the people to forget their old affiliations and come under the banner of ‘Jammu United Front’ to fight for their rights.
In an appeal to the people of Jammu, Gen Jamwal has said that ‘die has been cast and you have decided to fight for your rights staring with the demand of land for Lord Amarnath for which you have sacrificed your sons and are suffering. You are known for your patriotism and sacrifices for the safety and security of the country and the state and this unique state is your creation and now you have to sacrifice for your rights’, the message adds.
Jamwal in his appeal to the people has further said that ‘you will achieve what you want because you are prepared for it. Let us work for it unitedly and to achieve this goal we to maintain communal harmony at all costs. ‘Kashmiris are not own enemies and we should not cause any harm to them and let their goods move on the highways and condemned the high handedness of the administration and the police’.
The appeal further says that ‘all your sacrifices will be futile if you do not achieve political freedom from the Kashmiris who have not treated you equally and your felt suppressed and suffocated. Let us know take a pledge that no one from Jammu will ever vote for the Kashmiri parties and at the same time elect our representatives who will fight for the cause of Jammu so that never again Kashmir can put Jammu on fire’, adds the appeal.
Gen. Jamwal has further said in his appeal that ‘it needs understanding, spirit of cooperation and adjustment to forge a political unity out of diversity on which depend the fruits of the present movement adding that it has to be achieved within two months before the next elections in October. ‘There is no alternative. Ladakh has shown the way. Let us all forget our old affiliations and come under the banner of ‘Jammu United Front’ and fight first for the delimitation of constituencies before the next elections to rule our own destiny. You have chosen your path and nothing can deter you now’, the appeal says. |
