| JSM condemns threatening statements of secessionism by Hurriyat | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 7
Jammu State Morcha (P) at a meeting today discussed the situation arising out of the ongoing agitation spearheaded by SAYSS and the outcome of the all party meeting convened by the Prime Minister at the union capital yesterday. The meeting was attended by Prof. Virender Gupta, H. B. Khajuria, Dig Vijay Singh Virander Magotra, Divender Singh Jamwal and Chandra Uday Sharma and several other members of the Morcha. JSM (P) has strongly condemned the threatening statements of secessionism by the various Hurriyat and other leaders of Kashmir based political parties. It has also ridiculed the state of Mirwaiz Umer Farooq stating that only the areas of 2 ½ districts of Jammu region where this agitation is prevalent are welcome to secede in case they so desire. This shows an ostrich like mindset far removed from the reality of these Kashmiri leaders and reminded that the present agitation is spread in all districts of Jammu regions and is being supported by all communities irrespective of their religion. This agitation is being carried on by the common man and not non-state subjects or communal elements as is falsely being made out by these leaders. They have still not realized that all the Muslim community living in all the districts of Jammu region are not willing to be ruled and governed by the Kashmiri any more as in these 60 years they too have suffered the same discrimination as the other communities of Jammu region. The meeting reiterated that JSM (P) has been advocating for a division of the present J&K state along the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh as these regions are distinct in their language, culture and also geographical aspects. The self determination for the regions of Jammu and Ladakh will only be for a separate state each and nothing short of this will be the long term solution for an equitable development of these regions as since the past 60years it is the Kashmir Valley, through its leadership, which has usurped the entire development programs, political power, jobs and other opportunities which were to be equally distributed for the entire three regions of the state, the Morcha said. The Morcha has also reminded these Kashmiri leaders that there has been a systematic ethnic cleansing by the Kashmiri Muslims right since Independence. Under the same well thought policy of ethnic cleansing of Hindus from Kashmir Division, from 1989 onwards all the Kashmiri Hindus and Sikhs too were forced to leave their homes and hearths in the valley to become migrants in their own country. Ever since then, all the property of the Hindu temples and these migrants has been systematically disposed off in a clandestine manner to ensure that there is no possibility of their return. Even the Hindu Shrine Protection Bill brought out by a private member in the state assembly was not allowed to be tabled, the Morcha alleged. JSM (P) questions the rationale of what then are these Hurriyat and other Kashmiri leaders talking about self determination of the whole state as one unit. In fact all the areas of the Kashmir Valley in direct ratio of this migrated population from Kashmir Division should also be included into the land area of the new Jammu State. The members felt that the stand of JSM (P) that the All Parties Meet called by the Prime Minister would not be able to give any breakthrough or even a direction for the solution towards resolving the present agitation in Jammu as it had no representative from the Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti stands vindicated. It is most surprising that the provincial level leaders from the Congress; the NC & PDP parties, which are directly responsible for the present turmoil, had been included but the body spearheading the agitation has been ignored. This shows the non-seriousness and biased mind set against Jammu region of the Delhi Government. JSM (P) advises the Central Government and all other political parties that the Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti is the only body authorized to take any decision on the present agitation and it would be in the interests of all that an immediate dialogue be started with them to resolve the issue. |
