| Over 1000 trucks carrying consumer items reach Srinagar | | | Early Times Reporter

Leaders of chamber of commerce and industries besides the traffic authorities have claimed that over 1000 trucks,loaded with consumer items,including chicken and mutton,have reached Srinagar during the last four days.They said that another fleet of 250 trucks were to reach Srinagar within next 24 hours.
The Chamber leaders have made it clear that the flow of goods to Srinagar has been on a higher scale than to Jammu.They said as a result of poor arrival of truck loads of consumer items retaliers and wholesalers in Jammu have exhausted their stocks.
The traffic authorities said that after the Jammu-Srinagar highway was handover to the Army the movement of trucks improved from Lakhanpur to Srinagar.They said that the fleet of trucks,carrying consumer items,were moving on the highway under adewqute security cover provided by the troops.
Meanwhile,Chief of Amarnath Sangarsh SamitiLeela Karan, has given a lie to the campaign in kashmir that the Samiti had ordered economic blockaded on the valley.He has said that the Samiti had never given a call for economic blockade.
The BJP leaders,including Prof.Hari Om,have said that separatists had launched a campaign against what they call economic blockade.They said this campaign had one purpose for seeing Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road to get reopened for trade. |
