| BAJ takes strong exception to disinformation campaign of Kashmir leaders | | ‘Accuses Centre for its appeasement policy towards fundamentalists, secessionists’ | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 7
Taking strong exception to the disinformation campaign launched by Kashmir based leaders and their provocative, inflammatory and anti-national speeches spitting venom against the country, the Bar Association, Jammu has termed it as a deliberate attempt of such leaders to weaken the on going mass agitation launched in Jammu. The meeting held under the chairmanship of B S Slathia, President of the association while discussing the outcome of the All party meet convened by the PM at New Delhi yesterday observed that seriousness of this meet can only be gauged from the fact that Shri Amarnathji Yatra Sangarsh Samiti, spearheading the ongoing agitation, was not invited and even the National Panthers party, having four MLAs from Jammu region in the recently dissolved assembly, too was not invited to participate in the meet. The Bar members were of the view that the All Party Meet convened by the Prime Minister was only meant for appeasing the Kashmiri leaders and to address the situation prevalent in the valley in view of the alleged blockade of supplies to the valley. The claim of alleged blockade of supplies to the valley gets falsified by the statement and press-conference held by the Chief Secretary SS Kapur as well as Divisional Commissioners of Jammu & Kashmir respectively, the meeting observed. BAJ has threatened the Union of India against the appeasement policy towards the Kashmir leadership and accused it (Centre) of sacrificing the sentiments and genuine aspiration of Jammu people. Countering the disinformation campaign that the present agitation was the handiwork of the communal forces, the BAR reminded that people from all walks of life throughout the Jammu province irrespective of their political social or religious affiliations have came on streets in support of the ongoing agitation regarding Shri Amarnathji land row. The support extended by the Bar Associations Jammu, Chamber of Commerce, Muslim Federation, Gujjar United Front and Muslim Front of which Professor Zahoor-ud- Din is the chief patron and various other Muslim organizations is a complete answer to the vicious propaganda launched by Kashmir based leaders. BAJ has appealed to the people of Jammu region not to be trapped by the sinister designs of these Kashmiri leaders and maintain communal harmony and brother hood to defeat the propaganda of such forces. Regarding the alleged All Party Meeting summoned by the Prime Minister, the BAJ firmly believes that it was an attempt to negate the sentiments of secular and nationalists' people of Jammu region and to appease the Kashmir centric leaders, anti-national and fundamentalists. It has identified two notable enemies of Jammu agitation first Kashmir centric mind set and the Delhi mind set which is always supportive of Kashmir centric leaders at the cost of secular and nationalist people of Jammu region and warned the Union Government for playing partisan role and showing total apathy towards the genuine demand of people of Jammu region. The members reiterated their resolve to further intensify the agitation by supporting SAYSS in more effective manner to take this agitation to a logical conclusion. Appreciating the role of print and electronic media, the BAJ has decided to proceed to Delhi to ensure that the national electronic media projects sentiments of people of Jammu region in its right prospective. Others, present at the meeting were Vice-President CM Sharma, General Secretary Pawan Manni, Mandeep Singh Jamwal Joint Secretary, Rajesh Kotwal, BS Manhas, Abhinav Sharma, Parvinder Singh, Ajay Singh Manhas, Harshvardhan Gupta, Ravi Dogra, Ashok Mishra, RS Jamwal, , Subodh Jamwal, SK Shukla, Abhinav Sharma, , DS Chouhan, Rajesh Thappa, Pawan Dev Singh, RS Darswal, Monish Chopra, Piyush Gupta, Vikukash Anand, Vikas Sharma, Vishal Kapoor, DP Chibber, Deewakar Sharma, Rajesh Gupta, Joyti Mishra, Rakesh Jeet, Vishal Sharma, Baldev Singh, Rakeshjeet Singh, Vinay Sharma, Satinder Gupta, Sourabh Vyas, Sachin Gupta and Arun Jamwal and MP Singh Palli President Young Lawyers Association. |
