| Curfew, not agitation hindering free movement of goods: CCI | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 7
Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) in a statement has said that the business fraternity of both Jammu and Kashmir regions have always been cordial and cooperative even during the period of extreme turmoil, but unfortunately a fresh spate of rumors are being spread to create a wedge between the business communities of both the regions. As per a press release CCI strongly refuted the spread of rumor by a section of society across the valley that Jammu people have blocked the supply to the valley and clarified that no such call has been given by the Chamber or any business organization and even Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti. CCI said that this fact has also been repeatedly projected through print and electronic media also. The release added that the administration also is on record to report that there is no such embargo imposed by any organization but it is only due to the disturbed conditions and long curfews that the movement of the goods for the entire state including Jammu is slow. However on our request the authorities have also helped in clearing the vehicles stranded in Punjab at Gurdaspur where police authorities are still restricting the movement of trucks in to the state due to which even Jammu region is facing acute shortage of goods and raw materials. The manufacturing activities in Jammu have to come to a stand still because of the shortage of the raw material which could not be procured from out side the state. Ram Sahai, President Chamber of Commerce and Industry appeals to the business community of both Jammu & Kashmir for not getting trapped by the rumors and propaganda of vested interests who aim at creating hatred and division between the business fraternities of both the regions. |
