| Former Cong MLAs support agitation over land row | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 7 Expressing full solidarity with the ongoing agitation launched by Jammu people for revocation of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, several Congress leaders which included ex MLAs Raman Bhalla, Suman Lata Bhagat, Yogesh Sawhney, Sham Lal and MLC RS Chib, cautioned the Jammu people to be careful in view of the designs of some vested interest people, who want to take benefit of the situation. Addressing a press conference here today these leaders said till the goal of agitation is achieved they will fight for the cause with Jammu people. They demanded that the land be given back to Shrine Board as it has hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus across the country. These leaders also demanded removal of Governor NN Vohra and alleged that he failed on all fronts. Referring to police action against on innocent people, the leaders said police has surpassed all records of inhuman behavior in a civilized society and as condemned their action. Condemning the highly mischievous, provocative and communal statements by various leaders including Farooq Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and Yasin Malik, the congressmen warned them to refrain from such remarks, and added there is no economic blockade to the valley, besides the present agitation has no communal touch. Welcoming the prime ministers initiative in holding talks over the issue, they said, it is a step in right direction, and also appealed to the people to maintain brotherhood and communal harmony at all costs. |
