Punjab National Bank under the inspiring leadership of J.S. Jass, Zonal Manaager J&K Zone, in keeping with his commitment to the people of the state to provide best possible services to its customers, has installed MICR-CPC at Kachi Chawni, Jammu, which was inspected by O P Aggarwal, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, who made an on the spot survey if the working of the centre.
Aggarwal was accompined by Sharmila Thakore, Dy. General Manager Jass and P.L. Koul welcomed Aggarwal and Thakore at the centre. He made a survey of the building and the equipments & machinery being used for the purpose.
HE appreciated the efforts made by Punjab National Bank in providing MICR processing centre at Jammu as well as the infrastructure laid down for the purpose of running the centre. Aggarwal has requested the banks to take full advantage of the MICR technology adding said that for the overall development, day & night banking is the need of the hour and providing of services commensurate with the time and need is also an important part of financial progress for this purpose all the sections of the society need to be made a part of the banking service he added.
Jass, Zonal Manager, of the Bank assured the Regional Director that all out efforts would be made to make the blanks participating in the clearing operations at Jammu to shift to MICR technology at the earliest.
