| Five percent additional DA for Central govt employees | | |
New Delhi, Sep 7: An increase of five percent Dearness Allowance (DA) over and above the existing 24 percent will be given to Central government employees with effect from July 1, 2006.
According to a cabinet decision retired employees would also be entitled to a Dearness Relief at the rate of five percent over and above the existing 24 percent from the 1st June, 2006.
According to official sources the hike in DA and Dearness Relief would cost the government Rs 2787.15 crore in a full year whereas during the year 2006-07 it would amount to Rs 1858.15 crore. |
