| Jora inaugurates receiving station at Sidhra | | Directs officers to conduct inspections for reducing power theft | | JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 07 - Exuding confidence that public cooperation in revenue realization and installation of electronic meters would help a lot in supplying uninterrupted and adequate electricity in the state, the Minister for Power, Mr Rigzin Jora exhorted the officers to redouble their efforts for achieving the target of E-metering by October this year. The minister was speaking at a function soon after inaugurating 6.3 MVA, 33/11 KV receiving station at Sidhra here this morning. It was apprised that the 6.3 MVA, 33/11KV receiving station Sidhra completed at an estimated cost of Rs 122 lakhs was envisaged with the sole motive of stabilizing the power system of Sidhra and its adjoining areas. The work for construction of this receiving station was taken up in mid of 2005 under the central sponsored APDRP with the commissioning of this station the existing 6.6 KV feeder from Bahu Fort shall be relieved to a great extent. To ensure stable power supply in Sidhra and its adjoining areas, two 11 KV feeders would be connected to this receiving station. This station would be fed from 1x20 MVA, 132/33 KV Grid Station Sidhra and is expected to benefit nearly twenty thousand people. Mr Jora also convened a review meeting of PDD officers here today. The minister took stock of the progress achieved in revenue realization and E-metering. The minister enjoined upon all the officers to put in all efforts to increase the revenue realization in domestic, commercial and industrial categories. Minister impressed upon the officers to double their efforts in the installation of electronic meters to achieve the target assigned by October 2006.He stressed for conducting regular inspections and surprise checks to reduce power thefts. He warned that non-performers shall be weeded out and punished. He instructed or completing of all APDRP works be as per the specification and financial allocations and no deviation shall be tolerated. |
