Jammu | Aug 8

Principal Sessions Judge Jammu JR Kotwal today granted interim bail to Naveen Anand, who was arrested on August 3 for his alleged involvement in burning of Police Post Panjthirthi Jammu on August 1.
Public Prosecutor EA Tak appearing for the state, has strongly opposed the bail application on the ground the petitioner is one of the accused who has put police post Panjthirthi Jammu on fire on August 1, 2008 and has thus caused huge loss to the government/ public property. Due to the fire, the record of the police post was also burnt and accused also indulged in arson and thus committee a heinous and non-bail offence. Court, after hearing both the sides, directed that accused be released from the custody after he furnishes bail and personal bond to the tune of Rs 20, 000 each. JNF
