Jammu and Kashmir National Party began its hunger strike today in support of the agitation launched by Shri Amarnath Sangrash Samiti on seeing the negative attitude of the central govt towards the ‘just and lawful’ demand of the people of Jammu. As per a press release Central Govt is speaking the language of separatists and anti-national elements by curbing the movement of the people of Jammu region who irrespective of their caste color and creed have plunged headlong into this agitation launched by Shri Amarnath Sangrash Samiti. “Not even a single incident of communal violence has been reported from Hindu majority area of the Jammu province so far,” the party said. Jammu and Kashmir National Party added it welcomes the positive stand of Congress MPs of Jammu region including Madan Lal Sharma, Lal Singh and Karan Singh who have not only strongly supported the agitation launched by the Jammuities under the banner of Sri Amarnath Sangrash Samiti but have also raised the demand of removing the present governor of the State. Dr. Karan Singh’s demand of appointing Retd Gen J.J Singh as Governor of the Jammu and Kashmir state is in line with the demand made by Jammu and Kashmir National Party of appointing some Retd Army Officers as Governor of the J-K State. Jammu and Kashmir National Party also welcomes Sh. Sham Lal Cong MLA Akhnoor, S. Manjeet Singh Ex- minister for their having shown full faith in Shri Amarnath Sangrash Samiti Jammu and Kashmir National Party requests the human right organizations, Red Cross to look into the state atrocities being committed on the peaceful agitation. Jammu and Kashmir National Party is perplexed over criminal silence of these organizations despite barbaric reign of terror launched by the State machinery to curb the present agitation. Jammu and Kashmir National Party remains fully committed to the support and actively participate in the present movement of the people of Jammu region, the release added. |
