| Chaman castigates UPA for deployment of armed forces | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Aug 8
Former Union Minister and a senior leader of BJP Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, has castigated the Congress led UPA Govt for deployment of armed forces epically the Army against the nationalist people of Jammu, who, he observed, are fighting for their faith and defend their identity which has been subjugated for the past over six years now. As per a release, addressing a gathering at Ghagwal in border area of Hiranagar sector, Prof. Gupta said that it is a big folly to use brute force especially the deployment of Army against those patriots who always stood with them and fought shoulder to shoulder any aggression from across the border. This shows that men in authority are getting amuck by playing in the hands of dubious characters from Kashmir who has been blackmailing the country for so many years. He said that the so-called secularist have forced out about five lakh pandits and other people from the Valley of Kashmir and they have also their evil designs in Jammu areas too. Prof. Gupta questioned the leaders of the Congress, National Conference and their fellow travelers that they should explain that why the people of Jammu have been denied their due share in every sphere including the State Assembly. Jammu is having more voters and double the geographical area but this region has being given just 37 Assembly seats against 46 to Kashmir Valley. And above all an embargo has been put that there would be no delimitation of the Assembly seats till 2026, where as in the rest of the country the delimitation of Assembly and Lok Sbha seats have been there in the recent past. He also questioned there pseudo secularists that they should also explained that why the refugees from west Pakistan as also from Pak-occupied Kashmir have not been settled and what was the justification for having a Custodian Department to guard the properties of those who had migrate to Pakistan and got the citizenships of that country sixty years ago and why no such steps were taken to protect the properties of lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits and others who were pushed out from their homes and hearth and have come to be refugees with in their own countries. Prof. Gupta appealed to maintain communal harmony and defeat the designs of the elements responsible for the current unrest, the release added. |
