| Sadbhavana fortnight concludes at GGHSS Mubarak Mandi | | | JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 07 - NSS unit of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Mubark Mandi celebrated Sadbhavana fortnight commemorating late Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi’s birthday. NSS volunteers under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer Mr R.K uppal organized various functions including symposium, painting competitions, devotional patriotic song competitions etc. The concluding function was organized today in which Joint Director Information, Jammu, Mr. S. K. Sharma was the chief guest. The NSS Coordinator DR Jasbir Singh apprised the gathering regarding the function of NSS and significance of fortnight was to emphasize that all matters can be resolved through dialogue only and in a civilized society there is no place for guns. Mr. S. K. Sharma distributed prizes among the students who excelled in various competitions. In essay competition, Miss Heena Malhotra and Miss Aditi Pangotra jointly bagged Ist prize while 2nd and 3rd prizes were bagged by Miss Nupur Bhan and Miss Gursimrit Kour respectively. Miss Batool Fatima bagged consolation prize. In poster making competition, Miss Divya Sawhney, Miss Meena Malhotra and Miss Rashni bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively where as Miss Heena Mahajan bagged consolation prize. Encouraging the students to participate actively in debates, symposium and other programmes, Mr. Sharma said that such occasions not only provide opportunity for them to exhibit their hidden talent but also boost the spirit of patriotism among the budding generations. He said students could contribute a lot in weeding out social evils from the society and strengthen communal harmony and brotherhood. NSS State Coordinator Dr. S. Jasbir Singh highlighted the objectives of NSS. Principal of the school, Mrs. Shashi Jamwal presented vote of thanks. |
