If the Centre is sincere to end the volatile situation, which has already taken eight lives in Jammu region during the last over a month, the JKNPP Executive has said that it should immediately restore the land to the SASB, withdraw army and release all those detained during the ongoing agitation.
The Executive Committee of the party which met here today at the party headquarters under the chairmanship of B K Kotwal vice president said that the proposed visit of the central delegation to Jammu tomorrow would merely be a formality. The party took strong exception to the centre’s hostile policy towards the nationalists and peace loving people of Jammu altogether ignored them in the all party meet convened by the PM to find solution to the present unrest in Jammu.
The executive committee observed that if the Centre is sincere it should act swiftly and direct the Governor to issue an Ordinance diverting the land to the SASB as proposed by JKNPP Supremo Prof Bhim Singh in his letter to the Prime Minister and other central leaders of political parties.
Among others the meeting was attended by Bansi Lal President, Harsh Dev Singh Secretary General, Faqir Nath, P. K. Ganjoo, Navin Bakshi Vice-Presidents, Balwant Singh Mankotia, President Young Panthers, Anita Thakur, S. Daljeet Singh and H. C. Jalmeria, General Secretaries and Romesh Khajuria.
The JKNPP Executive Committee has also appealed to Prof. Bhim Singh to end his fast in view of his failing health and also to take medicines prescribed by the Doctors attending on him for safety of his life.
The JKNPP has decided to continue their chain hunger strike launched in support of the movement for restoration of land to Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board and removal of discrimination against Jammu. Those who sat on hunger strike today included Faquir Nath, Ex MLA, S. D. Khajuria, District President Jammu Urban, and Rajesh Gondhi District General Secretary Urban.
