Accusing former chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad and PCCI Chief of sabotaging the secular and genuine movement of the people of Jammu province, Bhartia Janta Party has however welcomed the Jammu based Congress leaders to lending their wholehearted support to the ongoing struggle.
Addressing media persons in a press conference here today, President BJP Ashok Khajuria admired the decision of some Jammu based congress leaders for extending their support to movement but at the same time denounced former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and JK PCCI chief Saif-u-din- Soz for putting forth every impediment in the road of genuine and secular struggle of the people of Jammu province.
"This trend will further carry on and more and more Congress leaders will take the plunge and join the movement," he said and added that Governor N.N. Vohra for his ulterior move to convert Jammu province into a cantonment to terrorize the angry and the already alienated people of Jammu province by inducting more army personnel.
Pooh-poohing the government decision to deploy army in the region against the nationalist forces, he said that duty of the army is to fight India's enemies and protect the nationalists, who fight for the national cause.
"It is a matter of grave concern that Governor Vohra, instead of taking on and crushing anti-India elements in the Kashmir valley, has not only planned to induct more army in Jammu province but also to use helicopters with a view to crushing the ongoing mass struggle which has been launched to defeat communalism in Kashmir and make the government hand-over 800 kanals of land at Baltal to the Shrine Board for providing facilities to the yatris," he added.
He also asked Governor Vohra to give up his biased approach towards the people of Jammu, who have been facing all kinds of difficulties for the last over 35 days.
