Various Sikhs organizations of the state under the banner of Guru Manyo Granth Society, have urged various factions of the society to iron out the difference over the revocation of Shri Amarnath land transfer controversy through a dialogue.
In a press statement issued here, the society has urged the people of Jammu to maintain calm and to continue their protest in a more democratic way and requested the agitators to beware of the politicians who try to draw political mileage of the present crisis.
The present situation in Jammu is more concerned with religious sentiments and nobody should be allowed to draw political benefit out of the present crisis, the society said and urged the agitators to maintain communal harmony. The society has also expressed happiness from the fact that rising above communal lines people of all religions be it Hindu, Muslim Sikh or Christians have joined hands to protest against the discrimination that the region has seen for the last more than 60 years.
The society also urged the media to report truthfully and do not try to instigate the religious sentiments of the masses, as balanced reporting could bring about the much needed change in the society otherwise a small mistake could set the entire state on fire.
This also holds good for the Kashmir based media, this is the time when we all should unite to strengthen the bonds between the regions and religions and don't try to divide it because of petty interest, the society has maintained.
The society urged the Kashmiri Muslim community to respect the religious sentiments of the people of Jammu associated with the Shri Amarnath, the Kashmiri community especially Muslims have a tradition of hospitality and they not only respect their guests but also treat them as messengers of God.
The Kashmiri Muslim community themselves should come up with an alternative which is acceptable to both the regions, as the issue is related to religious sentiments of the communities, learned scholars of both the communities and regions should sit together san any politician from any region to discuss the issue in a conducive and friendly manner.
Dialogue is the only way out of the present turmoil and splitting of the state on communal lines would mean that again you might have to divide the valley into Shiats and Suni land and so on and so forth. There is no issue on earth which cannot be sought out with dialogue.
The Society urged the members of both the regions and both the religions to come forward and make this 800 Kanals of land at Baltal a perfect epitome of religious harmony, friendship and tranquility.
