While condemning the use of brute force on peaceful protestors in Anantnag late last night, the PDP has demanded stern action against erring security personnel. In a joint statement issued here today PDP Youth Wing President Sayed Basharat Bukhari and General Secretary Bashir Assad has alleged that police and CRPF personnel entered forcibly into the houses late last night at Nai-Basti, Qazi Mohhalah, Rishi Bazar Chini Chowk and Batpora in Anantnag township and damaged the house -holds besides beating inmates to pulp. Bukhari and Assad said that entering forcibly into the houses and then destroying the house-holds was a highly condemnable act. PDP leaders further said that peaceful demonstrations were carried out earlier in the day against the road blockade and harassment of Kashmir based tuckers in Jammu but police and security personnel, with out any provocation let loose a reign of terror during the night in Anantnag town harassing innocent people including women, children and elderly which was highly condemnable. PDP leaders also expressed deep concern over the shortage of essential commodities and life saving drugs in the valley and in some parts of Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch and Rajouri. "Repots pouring in from Dachen Madwa and Kandi belts throughout the valley suggest that people are starving due to shortage of essentials and eatables" the duo said. They also expressed their solidarity with the fruit growers and traders of Valley who were suffering immensely due to road blockade and added that PDP will not let them down during these testing times. |
